Prophet Muhammad

The Only Way to Avoid Error is to Detect it – The Only Way to Detect it is to be Free to Question !
Muslims are Not Allowed to Question The Quran

Muhammad was born in Mecca in the year 570. He died in the year 632. The first 52 years of his life (c. 570–622) he lived in Mecca.
At the age of 40 he received his first revelation from God via angel Gabriel who appeared to him while he was meditating in a mountain cave named Hira.

In 610 Muhammad started preaching these revelations publicly proclaiming that “God is One”, that complete “surrender” (Islam) to him is the right course of action and that he was a prophet and messenger of God, similar to the other prophets.

Muhammad spent 12 years in Mecca preaching and gained very few followers, mainly friends and family, he also met hostility from some Meccans.

Migration to Medina:

To escape persecution, Muhammad and his followers migrated from Mecca to Medina (then known as Yathrib) in the year 622. This event, the Hijra, marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar, also known as the Hijri Calendar.

Muhammad lived another 10 years in Medina preaching Islam. During these last 10 years of his life he gained thousands of followers compared to the very few in 12 years in Mecca.

The return to Mecca:

Within the ten years that Muhammad lived in Medina he had gained so many followers that he was able to return and conquer Mecca, (either convert, pay the Jizya tax or be slaughtered) see -> Sahih al-Bukhari 392

Jews and non-Muslims (Dhimmis) were forced to wear a Yellow Star to distinguish them from Muslims.

Below is a link to a video of Brigitte Gabriel explaining the early days of Islam and Prophet Muhammad:

According to Muslims:
Muhammad was the perfect moral example for all mankind and the greatest Muslim to have walked the Earth and the greatest Muslim that will ever walk the earth. He was The Perfection.
He was someone that all Muslims should strive to be like. No Muslim could ever be as good as Muhammad !

Below are links to just a few Hadith that may prove otherwise.
